“For our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against the powers of this world of darkness and against the spirits of evil in the heavens” (Ephesians 6:12).

Dr Miriam Sciberras, Chairperson of the life Network Foundation, Malta opened the National Assembly of the Legion of Mary. She was the guest keynote speaker. The Assembly was held on the above theme on Friday 1st May 2026 at the Immaculate Conception School Hall, Tarxien. This spokesperson urged that over 200 legionnaires who were present to live TODAY in all its fullness and to live courageously in the face of evil.

In the subsequent discussion held between the members present and a “panel” of legionnaires, the Regia spiritual director Fr. Jonathan Debattista pointed to a few statistics of interest. The Legion today is spread in 48 parishes in Malta and practically all parishes on Gozo. The 850 members carry out the apostolic work of prayer, Communion and support in families, homes for the elderly, a sea apostolate and hospitals, among other activities, on both islands.

The activity closed with a Mass concelebrated by the Regia spiritual director and Fr Karm Gauci, spiritual director of the Gozo comitium, with those attending full of courage after they were called to live with courage and faithfulness TODAY.
